Title And the Sun Blinded Us All (Third Draft)
By: Ari K.
Following the end of the Third World War, Earth was ravaged to the point that technology regressed nearly a century. With no internet and none of the convenience of the modern era, some people decided to turn back to the root of humanity’s joy and beauty: the arts. Tarina Kivi, a young writer, travels to London to throw herself headfirst into this noble pursuit and help craft what she believes will be humanity’s legacy of creativity. When a mishap leaves her without lodgings, she finds refuge with the Westminster Salon, a house of the world’s brightest, and most eccentric, writers. What starts as a week of learning from the best in her field quickly turns into a week of Tarina aiding in destructive passion projects, chaotic day trips, and perhaps a bit of petty crime. With just a journal and a pencil, she must capture the true lesson her idols are teaching her: the childish joy of being alive.
